Person Centred Counselling - Person centred counselling for teenagers can be a very powerful experience. I offer a real and down to earth approach with the teenagers I work with, whilst showing a great amount of empathy and respect towards them as individuals. This is a talking therapy that can look back at past events, their view of their present day situation and also create realistic and manageable goals to keep them focussed in the future. This type of therapy can work with most mental health problems however I have worked a lot with anxiety, low mood, stress, anger, body image, social anxiety, self harm and confidence more recently. Solution Focussed Therapy -Solution focussed therapy is exactly that, finding solutions to your problems but in a safe, non-judgemental and empathic setting. For teenagers it could be dealing with exam stresses, dealing with anxiety or building confidence. This therapy empowers teenagers to manage their own lives the way they want, they will choose what we work on and we can adapt and change course throughout depending on their needs. If you require a short term therapy to overcome some of your problems and want to learn to focus on the future with a more positive, goal driven view then this is the therapy for you. Behavioural Therapy - Behavioural Therapy works on 3 main areas, extreme anxiety, low mood and phobias. This therapy is directive and can include parental involvement in the sessions in order to carry on the techniques learnt in therapy at home. Despite it being a direct approach, the young person will receive a calm, safe and non-judgemental space in order to work through their thoughts and feelings. Please contact me for more information.
